What actually belongs on a tech/hospitality rider
A good rider answers the questions a venue and sound engineer will ask anyway, before they have to ask them:
- Input list - every channel, what it is, and where it sits on stage (pairs with your stage plot).
- Monitor and backline needs - what you're bringing, what you need the venue to provide.
- Green room basics - private space, working AC, enough chairs, a mirror if you need one.
- Catering - headcount, meal timing relative to load-in, and any dietary notes worth flagging in advance.
- The specific, slightly ridiculous ask - every band has one. Put it in writing, or don't be surprised when it doesn't show up.
Keep it honest and keep it short. A three-page rider gets skimmed; a one-page rider gets read.
